Micah,
If you're using anchors in concrete to secure hangers _*and*_ the
project has to provide seismic protection then the same conformance to
ACI355.2 is required, per 9.3.7.8. There is a requirement in 9.1.3.1
for pre- or post-installed anchors in concrete to be listed, unless the
limits of 9.1.3.2. or 9.1.3.3 are applicable.
As I am a member of the hanging and bracing committee please see the
disclaimer below.

Working on my best practices for Seismic projects. Does NFPA 13
9.3.5.9.7 (“Concrete Concrete anchors shall be prequalified for
seismic applications in accordance with ACI 355.2, /Qualification of
Post-Installed Mechanical Anchors in Concrete and Commentary/, and
installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.”) apply
to anchors for standard supports for the system piping or does it only
apply to sway brace components? Section 9.3.5 applies to Sway Brace
Design, so my gut is to say it does not. I can find nothing in
section 9.1 or 9.2 that specifies prequalified anchors are required
for standard supports, but logic tells me that should be a
consideration as well. What is the opinion(s) of the forum? Should I
be trying to convince my clients to use ICC evaluated anchors for all
hangers?
