A row of BB down the ridge line and a row of AP heads, 1 along each eve. You
can cover 80' span.

Just curious - what is the span on this thing?

Matt

Hey Tim-
Yeah unfortunately the roof span is too wide for attic heads......

Brian,
I don't know what your Concealed Attic Space looks like. If the building is
less than 60' wide design using the Attic Heads by Tyco, Viking or Reliable
(70' wide) Back to Back heads down the Ridge line.

8.6.4.1.4.4 (2013) says that if the dimension perpendicular to the slope
exceeds 8'-0" you need to figure 20 psi at the sprinkler. I'm picturing
perpendicular to mean "across" the joist, not up the slope, correct? Also, the
min. 5'-0" dimension from the eave is kinda goofy, if I come in 5' from each
eave at a corner it puts the head right on the Hip. I only do about (1) wood
framed job a year so each time it's like starting over, any pointers from you
attic experts? And unfortunately the roof span is too wide to use attic
heads....
