Bruce,
Twenty some years ago a city in Ks experiencing a highrise office
space construction boom amended 13 to protect elevator shafts from
sprinklers. It read something like, "Thou shalt not put sprinklers in
elevator shafts". It was a compilation of original and cited reasearch
that said something like, "it's not worth it".
A lot of us local designers rejoiced.
