The NFPA 13 technical committee has addressed partial height walls in ordinary hazard occupancies in the NFPA 13, 2022 edition. Section 10.2.7.3.2.3 and 10.2.7.3.2.4 address partial height walls 12 in. or less in width. If a sprinkler is installed within 6 in. of the centerline of the partial height wall the sprinkler shall be installed 6 in. or greater vertically. If installed greater than 6 in. of the centerline it shall be installed 18 in. or greater. This can be accessed as an NFPA member on NFPA.org/13next. Figures are provided to describe the requirements.
