No need for that. Just give it the old "up over and down". We run into that 
frequently with 2000 gpm pumps on 8" underground lines also.

Sizing a pump for an existing warehouse, 85psi @ 1500gpm, calls for 8" flanges. 
NFPA-20 (2013), 4.14.3.3 states 10 pipe diameters upstream of suction flange. 
Existing stub-up is 6", safe to assume some underground work is in order?
