This particular project, the tire storage falls within the definition of "miscellaneous tire storage" providing the racks are single-row . Table 4.3.1.7.1 doesn't have a category for double-row racks for heights greater than 5'. The difference in design criteria is significant.
The handbook says a longitudinal flue space is minimum 6" and max 24". With larger tires in this rack, there won't be 6", so is that space really a longitudinal flue space? Thus my search for higher knowledge. Normally I'd settle for someone who stayed in a Holiday Inn Express, but that's my line, so . . . If it's tire storage though, does it matter? That looks like rubber tire storage, on-tread, in a fixed rack without solid shelves.
