One question, if there is no public water supply, what will the fire department
use for firefighting? Will they truck it in?

Are these concrete tanks above ground? What is the reason for this arrangement
in lieu of one single tank?

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [Sprinklerforum] Multiple tank pump suction

I have a client that is building a retail store in an area with no public water
supply. Sprinkler water will be supplied by pump and tank. My estimate is for
20000 gallons. The client want to use 4 - 5500 gallon concrete tanks connected
in series.

required? NFPA 22 doesn’t address this (that I found). An old copy of the
Hydraulic Institute Standards I have states that for piping to suction pits,
keep the velocity below 2 ft/sec. Would this be a reasonable number?
