Hi Andrew,
The answer is not so obvious, so it was ok to ask. The options you refer
to are passed to IPython only if its version is 0.10. To properly
configure IPython 0.12 you need to update Spyder to version 2.1.11,
which is available only through our website.
Cheers,
Carlos

Hi all,
Sorry for the newb question if this is obvious.
I really like the Spyder editor and associated functionality, and use
the ipython interpreter for much of my work. However, when I edit the
IPython interpreter command line options under Tools -> Preferences ->
Console -> External modules, they don't seem to be recognized when I
open a new IPython interpreter. Can someone help me fix this?
I'm on a machine with a 64-bit installation of Ubuntu 12.04, version
0.12.1 of IPython, and version 2.1.9-1 of Spyder, both from Ubuntu
repositories. The options I'm trying to pass are "qtconsole
--pylab=qt", minus quotes.
Thanks in advance,
Andy
