If it's a rights issue, then why would it only happen only some of the time. To go into more detail, spyder doesn't seem to start correctly (i.e. no GUI) the first time I try to launch it, but the process seems to linger (I check with e.g. ps). The 2nd time I launch spyder, it appears, which is a bit of a puzzle to me. The first process still remans. If I then close spyder, the corresponding process terminates correctly. But when I try to relaunch, it's only the 2nd relaunched process that works correctly. Any ideas?
