Hi,
I'm using Spyder 2.3.0 on Windows 7. I'm guessing the menu structure
is fairly similar.
The Syntax coloring sub-menu only handles the potential color schemes.
If you go into Preferences > Editor, then Display tab, the Syntax color
scheme drop down list is at the bottom. This is where those color
schemes are enacted for the editor.
I don't why it's setup this way, and I have only been using Spyder for
about a week.
As far as the other windows(consoles, etc.), I haven't found any menu
options to change color schemes, but I think messing with config files
may do the trick. Who knows?
You can chose which kind of theme you want to apply on the first panel.
The theme itself is defined by the OS, so you have a consistent look for
all your applications.

Thought I would like to try different editor schemes. So I went into
Spyder > Preferences > Syntax Coloring.
Selecting the different tabs, for example "Emacs" doesn't change the
editor color scheme.
When I select a new tab the "apply" button remains dimmed and
doesn't become active. If I just click OK the theme isn't applied.
If I make an edit to one of the colors, then the apply button
becomes active, but clicking it doesn't apply it to my editor.
Is there some trick I'm missing here?
