When I import opencv I get:

Your help would be highly appreicated.

My suspicion is that this is a library conflict, best guess numpy. To drill down to what the exact problem is going to take more information.

So:

1) What exactly is the opencv module you are using and what version?
I found several different Python bindings to OpenCV.

2) What version of Spyder are you using?

3) What versions of Python, Numpyand IPython are you using?
In particular any differences between the setup that works and the one that does not.

4) What happens if you launch a IPython kernel outside Spyder and then create a IPython session connected to that kernel?

Thanks,
Mohammad
