Thanks, I had no idea. I though such packages would be automatically checked for updates. I wonder what else is horribly out of date.
I installed the newest Spyder version and still had the same problem. What does work though is opening Spyder from a terminal. Can anyone explain why there would be an OpenSSL version mismatch when running Spyder from the kde "start menu", while there is no issue when running it from a terminal?
