Ok, I don't understand how this error is generated but we can fix it by inserting the line that gives the error in a try/except block.

I'll do that for 3.0.2, to be released next week :-)

Cheers,
Carlos

    Are you using Python 2 or 3?

        Edit: This is a consistent issue on both of my machines--not
        just the one as I had originally said.

            Hi,

            I just created a new Python 3.4 Anaconda environment from
            Miniconda 2. (Win 7 64-bit).

            I fired up Spyder 3 and every time I enter a command in

            I created the same environment on a different Win 7
            64-bit PC and don't get this error. Any ideas, or
            instructions on how I can debug this?

            A few items from 'conda list':
            anaconda -> 4.2.0 py34_0
            ipython -> 5.1.0 py34_0
            numpy -> 1.11.1 py34_0
            python -> 3.4.5
            qt -> 5.6.0 v10_0
            qtconsole -> 4.2.1 py34_0
            spyder -> 3.0.0 py34_0

            Thanks,
            Randy
