Actually, I went the other way around, asking at Sympy if they could
tell me how to use the 'fontsize' argument in the init_printing(...)
call to work properly. They said its broken and suggested to use
MathJax (with a workaround) ... which as you state properly works in
Browser oriented IDEs only but not in Sypder.
So it seems one is stuck with a fixed font size for rendered symbolic
output from SymPy if using Spyder.
It would really be nice to have a fix for that.
