This is a bug, and we'll fix it in a future Spyder release.

Cheers,
Carlos

Hello,

When I open Spyder 3.1.2 from the command line (Mac OS 10.12.3) it always opens a new instance, even when I do not tell it to do so. Thus, I type:
   spyder file.py
and it opens Spyder again, even if it is already open. This is, to me, unexpected behavior, and it is new behavior.

How can I tell it to open file.py in an already running Spyder?

Thanks
Geoff
