Hi,
Please open an issue in our issue tracker about this, so we don't forget
to fix it in Spyder 3.1.4 (to be released in a month or so).
Cheers,
Carlos

Can you say when it might be fixed? It makes Spyder almost unusablle
for those of us who open files in Spyder from the command line.

Hello,
When I open Spyder 3.1.2 from the command line (Mac OS 10.12.3) it
always opens a new instance, even when I do not tell it to do so.
Thus, I type:
spyder file.py
and it opens Spyder again, even if it is already open. This is, to
me, unexpected behavior, and it is new behavior.
How can I tell it to open file.py in an already running Spyder?
Thanks
Geoff
