I am also brand new to Python and Spyder and use a Mac. I have Python 3.6,
and Spyder 3.1.2. I get a message that version 3.1.3 is available, but I am
having difficulties with the update. The instructions available assume that
the reader is already a programmer, which I'm not. Thanks for your help!
