Spyder is great!!! I've been using it to teach my class in numerical methods rather than Matlab since last year and it was a huge success among the students.
One feature that I really miss, however, when comparing e.g. to PyCharm, is the option to rename variables within the whole document/project. When marking a variable SPYDER already highlights all occurances in the document. So to me it seems that including an option that replaces all highlights by a given string must be possible. Ideally: 1) marking a variable 2) right mouse 3) "change variable name in document/project" 4) textbox input 5) done this works incredibly fast and efficient in PyCharm This topic was already raised in 2013 by Tom https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/spyderlib/rename$20variables%7Csort:relevance/spyderlib/YrF0NCv3uRw/Wzg5mqSOmWoJ sincerely, Michael -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "spyder" group.
