Overwriting your existing folder with the tar.gz contents is ok.
Just for your information, here is how your data is stored with sql-ledger:
1. Your login/users information is in sql-ledger/users/ folder
2. Your templates are in sql-ledger/templates/your-templates/
3. Your chart of accounts, customer, vendors, parts, transactions are
all in postgresql database and nothing like this is in the sql-ledger
folder.
