One of the big differences is that when we've seen these problems we have tried to tighten up db constraints to prevent them. This is harder to do on SQL-Ledger because sometimes people depend on the lack of constraints.... So it happens less often and typically they complain about errors instead. This being said I have had one database corruption issue I was called about a couple years ago.
