Do you have SQLServer administrator on your local machine. or access
to the administrator on on the remote machine?  If so, you should be
able to just set up data sources to the remote data and the local data
and copy everything over as often as you wish, or run a backup with
the local machine the destination.  You can also configure SQLServer
to send you an email if the backup runs successfully, or if it fails..
