[sqlite] examples of syntax

Hi,
I am new here and would like to know if there are examples of syntax available 
other than the "syntax" page from the home page; 
I would like to use select; when/ then/ else/ end etc., but nee dto follow an 
example for syntax.
I have a text file I am trying to parse to sqlite columns and i may need more 
help if I acn't work it out.
