Dealing with this time zone business always makes me feel dizzy :) Your
suggestion works pretty fine, in fact, see:
> 1.8.7 ~ > sqlite3
> sqlite> select datetime('2011-03-08 14:00', 'utc');
> 2011-03-08 13:00:00
> sqlite> select datetime('2011-04-08 14:00', 'utc');
> 2011-04-08 12:00:00
The latter case is in CEST, and sqlite seems to know this. And again with the
timezone pinned to UTC:
> 1.8.7 ~ > TZ=UTC sqlite3
> sqlite> select datetime('2011-03-08 14:00', 'utc');
> 2011-03-08 14:00:00
> sqlite> select datetime('2011-04-08 14:00', 'utc');
> 2011-04-08 14:00:00
I would say: just perfect!
