I'm Linux based.  However Navicat is available for Linux so I'll try the
free trial.

Ah, bad start, it's not a Linux application at all, it runs under Wine.
... and it doesn't appear to actually work.  I have downloaded it, and
run it, and absolutely nothing happens.


However I have run the Windoews executable that comes with it in my
VirtualBox Windows XP guest and it does work and have the database editing
ability I want.

There are still quite a lot of clicks required to get to the database
editing grid though, isn't there some way of telling Navicat when it's
started what database and table one wants to use?
