Yes, as I already said, there are some open-source components not developed by Apple that embed their own copies of sqlite. But the really important copy of the library is the shared one in /usr/lib that is used by all Apple OS components and (nearly all) native apps. Anyway, my point is just that (speaking from experience) it's not a simple matter for Apple to update the version of SQLite in its OS, contrary to what was asserted.
