Yes  - the mime returned with an http is supposed to be the true
indiciation of the content and podcast XML setting are notorious for
being wrong/ambiguous. 

BTW - you should make changes with a custom-types.conf file rather than
alter a types.conf file.  That way even after an update whiuch
overwrites the types.conf file .the custom-types.conf file will remain
and changes will still work.
