The m3u8 URL is HLS only. The "iplayer://" URL is a special fake designator just for the BBCiplayer plugin which can have mulitple URLs and the BBCiplayer Setting determines which order they should be tried. The HLS> DASH setting means if there are both HLS and DASH URLs in the iplayer:// URL then try the HLS URL first. Otherwise - only try to play HLS and DASH UR:s (i.e. ignore MP3, Flash URLs if they are present). The previous URL was being played by the PlayHLS plugin which has nothing to so with the BBCiPlayer plugin.
