Yes it is a linux machine. Its running vortexbox on an old Acer Revo
nettop to be more specific. 

As I wrote earlier the odd thing is that I can ping all the servers the
log says it cannot resolve. www.mysqueezebox.com and 79.125.18.68
responses just fine to ping. 

So I guess a gateway problem is more likely. I am kind of a newbie when
it comes to networking stuff. Do you have some suggestions on how to
handle such problems?

I haven't been having these problems before. However, I did recently
move house which including a getting a new ISP who provided a new home
network device (router I guess). I suppose that might be root of the
problem? It is a Technicolor TG799vn v2 if that make a difference.
