It doesn't any more with my sq2u set-up. Originally that's what would
happen but after one of your revisions last year (and I can't remember
when though we did exchange posts about it) the pause/resume behaviour
changed to as it is now so when you resume a live stream after a pause 
the stream time in LMS will reset to zero  and restart from the current
live position. This is what happens with the BBC-DASH streams and also
Radio Paradise -AAC stream. Perfectly acceptable behaviour as far as I
can see! I also run with an unlimited buffer setting. 

No need for a stop button as clearing the playlist stops the stream.
