There is no trick. Some settings will not generate log message until streams are run. How are you viewing the log file ? If through the browser "WebUI Setting/Info" make sure page is refreshed. Better through a shell prompt and "tail" the log file. * Make sure the Settings tab is "live" and not left open between restarts of LMS. * Change setting to INFO and click Apply. Make you are changing the right setting as some browser can render the page badly. * To test - set player.source to DEBUG ad click apply. Then change the Settings page from "logging" to "Filetype" this will dump all filetype settings as log endtries to log file. To get rid of one variable - can you set DHCP server to ensure the players always have the same IP address.
