I suspect that as they're using the same carrier frequency you will find that two identical pairs of power line adapters performs just as badly as one mesh of four. Not that I've tried this. I would always vote for a Linux setup - it's likely to be long term more stable and supportable as it's what the LMS community seems to have moved towards. But you don't really need a lot of horsepower unless you are doing heavyweight transcoding.
