Thanks Michael - "yum clean all / yum update" gave me this version of LMS - "Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 0.150.20161204git1480516903 @ Sun Dec 4 22:31:21 GMT 2016" All the Linux and other details are the same as before this update.
Still pretty old...
"Clear library and rescan everything" started after a much shorter delay, about 6 or 7 minutes before any activity showed on the information tab of the settings screen. Scan time was 00:35:52, the usual sort of time for my collection.
Could you check your cache folder, in particular the size of the various .db files. How big are they?
