My Qnap-LogitechMediaServer is a simple installation, which will install
only LogitechMediaServer on a Qnap which has x86_64 support.
Tried to make it easy, and work out off the box.
Where it uses programs/tools included in the QTS system from Qnap.
The only thing which is included, is a good perl ( 5.24 ) and added some
needed perl modules to make spotty and YouTube working.
Normally you dont have to do nothing more.
If you want to up or even downgraded, just download the
logitechmediaserverXXXXX.tgz ( the one with CPAN included ).
Place it in the Download share of youre Qnap nas system, and stop and
start LogitechMediaSever from the appstore.
After a few minuts you can get the webgui, and its adjust to the
supplied version.
Only if there is trouble, you could logon youre Qnap with a ssh shell,
to look in the LogitechMediaServer directory to read the logfile.

A QPKG packets is not a stripped virtualmachine thing.
It has a installation script, how a program should be installed on a
Qnap using the proper tools.
And also included a good init-script, to make it run on startup of stop
the nas system.
Also it takes care off any users, directorys and user rights.

And no my QPKG does not have anything like bash, there all used from the
QTS system from Qnap.

Very important my Qnap LogitechMediaSever, only works on x86_64
systems.
So before installing logon to youre Qnap with a ssh shel, and do uname
-m where it should say x86_64. ( other are not supported yet, and it
wont install )

*
Qnap TS-453a, with LogitechMediaSever 7.9.1 ( with spotty and youtube )
Serval raspberry with hifiberry amp+ and picoreplayer.
Love logitechmediaserver for it flexibel way, to play music from
different sources.*
