thanks for the reply! However, changing the port number in either or both files doesn't change this behavior. I changed the port number as I always change default port numbers when I am punching holes in my router's firewall (i.e. for ssh I use different port number). A couple of months ago I got the feeling someone hacked into my LMS using 9002 (found a different unknown username in my config which I definitely did not put in there). Paranoia maybe...
