You don't say whether you are using integrated storage or not, but if so
what capacity?

My 2-cents...
If this is a requirement, just by a 1-2 gen older PC off of eBay. I
know the LMS platform is great for hobbyists and I've been tempted many
times to go the Raspberry Pi route, but for my money (and time) a used
PC is the way to go.

I like the HP ProDesk 600/EliteDesk 800 G1-G3 vintage - Desktop Mini for
real small, or SFF to allow for more storage. For friends I might just
run a native install of DaPhile https://www.daphile.com, or I run it
under a Windows + Plus VMware Workstation/VirtualBox stack which allows
me to run other apps as well.

Any model with a Intel i5-4790T or i5-6500T typically draws about 10-15
watts, just lumping along with LMS (single drive). If you run 3-5 VM's
and/or more drives it typically draws more like 30-45 watts. These are
real world based on my kill-a-watt style meters.

*Player: *1 x Transporter w/Trans-knob, 2 x Touch (Active, 3 x Spares),
4 x Boom (Active, 9 x Spares)
*Server: *1 x Win Server (ESXi 6.x) w/LMS, 1 x HP 24" Touch Screen PC
w/LMS & SqueezePlay
*Control: *4 x w/iPeng, 1 x Samsung Note 4, 3ea x Fire 7", 8” tablets, 1
x 10" all w/SqueezeCtrl & Player (Angry Goat)
*Audio: *Mark Levinson 23.5 Amp, 380s Pre, 390s CD, B&W 801 II, Acoustic
Energy AE-2 signature, SOTA Sapphire table

Computer geek/tech hoarder(!), and DAMN I love the LMS/Squeeze
infrastructure!
