Check the server.log for message ?

SliMP3 can only play MP3 so Flac has to be transcoded to MP3.  When
players are synced everything is trancoded into MP3.  SliMP3 has a tiny
buffer so what MP3 bitrate are you transcoding to ?  what type of server
and network - you'll need a good network and server to make sure no
delays keeping SliMP3 buffer full..
