Fade-in when starting to play is done by the player itself and works. According to LMS's code, when resuming, it's LMS which sends a fast serie of volume changes. It should work but I confirm on Boom, Radio and my Bridges it does not work, there is no serie of volume commands received LMS 7.7, 7.8 and 7.9 - 5xRadio, 3xBoom, 4xDuet, 1xTouch, 1 SB2.
