As I noted in another thread, Debian/Testing now includes perl 5.28 and
there's no pre-built slimserver-vendor CPAN bits bundled for 5.28 yet.

There are, but x86_64 only.

And yes I'm the remaining weirdo running i386 on a x86 CPU so if the
plan is to continue tracking perl package updates in the nightly builds
can that be added? (@Michael?)

I try to avoid "exotic" platforms, as they're just ballast for 99+% of the users. And as you noticed yourself, i386 is becoming exotic. I usually wait a while after a new Perl has shown up to see what platforms people are asking for support for it.

Trackstat does the following, the entire LMS server locks up solid for
the duration. NOTHING can happen while this is running. Anyone else seen
this?

I'd recommend you post this to a TrackStat related thread.
