I checked the server.log to find out why 7.9.1 was not working. I found
this (and a lot more similar messages): 

2019-08-08 15:29:19 Logitech Media Server died. Restarting.

2019-08-08 15:29:29 Logitech Media Server died. Restarting.
2019-08-08 15:29:34 Logitech Media Server died. Restarting.

The time does not fit to my first approach of installing but maybe I did
purge afterwards. As I said above I am running 7.9.2 nightly now and it
is fine but it would be interesting to know why the stable version of
7.9.1 did crash this way.
