The server doesn't update by itself. The updates were just my attempt to fix the problem thinking that perhaps something had changed. When I went away three weeks ago, all was well. When I started my PC at home last night there was no webGUI. The server is a baby chip on a card like a fat Pi, a Rock64. I run a derivative of Debian on it, armhf. I don't run a firewall that I know of. My LMS updates are always the ...arm.deb ones that land in my var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/updates folder. The only thing that changed in the three weeks was that I had an extended holiday. I don't think my server has the capability of upgrading its own O/S. If it were a network issue I would not expect to see the server on 192.168.1.180. It is all very strange and frustrating.
