You may need to edit the config.txt file on the boot partition of your
SD card, so that greater resolutions are supported.

You can either do this by inserting the SD card into your laptop - the
boot partition should be accessible - or by accessing pCP over SSH, and
typing 'm1' at the command line to mount the first partition on the
card.

Then look for the following section of config.txt and edit the
framebuffer width and height to suit your monitor's resolution:
