Heh funny I got the same router and I'm having problems with some of the squeezeboxes as well.
Part of it may be my aging receivers are getting pretty decrepit that they may not survive this upgrade. I found this site https://routerguide.net/ to be helpful in terms of optimizing the 2.4Ghz stuff. I've had mixed luck but I think part of it is I mainly sync all my boxen which makes the whole connection framework more fragile. Please let me know if you got it working well.
