Dear Squeeze-lovers,
This is my first post!
I have a LMS/pCP(x3) multiroom setup that I find absolutely perfect. I
love it! It has
- Large music database
- High resolution lossless
- Song ratings (thanks to Erland TrackStat)
- Interface for your own plugins (I have written a plugin that
generates new playlists from a set of rules every night)
- Perfect merge of own playlists and other Spotty or Tidal playlists
Now to the problem part: My wife hates it! So, I'm closing in on having
parallel systems at home. Her requirements are:
- Multiroom
- Her normal interface, i.e. Spotify, direct or saved radio streams,
podcasts etcetera. Note specifically that Spotty is out of the
question as it does not look exactly as Spotify
- 100 % functioning
- Restart possible with one button like a "normal" stereo
The system is:
- MacMini running LMS 7.9
- OSX, but have also tested Ubuntu
- Several piCorePlayers
- ShairTunes
The problem with my setup is (that on the paper should have
everything):
- Multiroom suddenly looses one or several players. Not recovering
until re-synchronized.
- Airplay instability, where the sound stops for a while several times
a day.
Help needed bad!
Am I looking at the correct setup for my and my wife's requirements?
Should I look at something else than squeeze for me and Airplay for my
wife?
Is it possible to have Airplay working 100 % (no lost players or
glitches)?
