You are right, i begin to doubt what the condition was when it worked. It works when I mount the drive with fstab, but automount does not work. And I tried with all kinds of solutions (udevel, devmon, usb-boot ... ) But I have also have a no-go to boot from USB3 with the boot part on SD and the root on USB3, which was working nicely on the Pi3.
The Pi4 has a huge problem with USB3, reading their own forum. Not only with booting from USB, also speeds and which brand of controller the USB/SATA bridge is. https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/search.php?keywords=JMicron https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/search.php?keywords=asmedia The Pi devs dig in: > > USB boot development is in progress. We do not have a schedule for it, > nor a release date. It is not the highest priority task we have, but > there again, we do have more than one engineer and are perfectly capable > of working on more than one thing at a time. When it is ready it will be > announced. Probably in HUGE FLASHING letters on the blog home page. > > Hopefully that is clear enough. Any more posts in new threads about this > will be deleted without warning. > The PCIe / USB3 has not been ready when the PI4 launched, and is after more then a half year later still not ready. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ nietgiftig's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29921 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111940 _______________________________________________ Squeezecenter mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
