@nietgiftig

I have been playing with a fresh install of the semi-skimmed Raspbian
Desktop OS this morning.

I was looking at users and permissions and how to make LMS see the usb
drive in the automount.

I used the PARTUDID for fstab, added nofail to the line and that started
fine.

I also changed the chmod to 777.

I decided that I would mount the usb drive, a Samsung M3, to another
location.

And then the lightbulb went on, thanks to @AngloCuencano

Code:
--------------------
    sudo chmod -R 777 /media
--------------------

and the disk is immediately visible in LMS Settings as

> /media/pi/9A8E6EB98E6E8E17/Squeezebox

I don't know if it would be better to chmod /media/pi/9A8E6EB98E6E8E17/
?

But so far I have been able to un-mount using the Desktop Task Bar,
reboot and re-attach the drive .

hope this helps
