Using the Advanced Search feature (which is available in the default web
interface when hovering over "Search" in the dropdown menu under "My
Music", to avoid misunderstanding) I have entered a comma-separated list
of genres in the genre field, after selecting the option, "- not in text
search". My expectation is that the resulting list will not include any
tracks containing any of the listed tags. Instead, I find many tracks
that contain one of the excluded tags.

It is possible that there is a problem with the formatting of my list of
genres. However, when I use the same search string with the "-text
search" option, the results appear to be exactly as expected: every
track containing any of the listed tags.

I use multiple genre tags (using "" as separator), and in many cases,
the genres I am trying to exclude will not be found in the files' first
genre tag. Could this be the issue? Does the "not in text search" option
multiple genre tags as it should?

And if that's not the issue, any suggestions for possibilities I might
explore?
