Maybe they will drop things with macOS version that is current when the Apple Silicon (ARM) MACs start shipping.
Things will change a lot then. The pref pane implementation we have is so old it will never compile for that new platform. But it would still be compatible with PowerPC. We actually keep an OS X 10.5 VM around just to build the Mac package of LMS :-).
It'll probably be the day I have to say goodbye to the "feature rich" version we have now. Not only is it somewhat broken, but I'd love to simplify it in favour of improved maintainability. Unless somebody feels an urge to provide a nice pull request with the required changes, of course.
