I would like to be able to configure it from LMS settings but it probably would not change often. For example I am sitting in the garden right now and have the speakers each side of the bench and can hear both easily ... so normal stereo is fine. However, if the weather is fine over the weekend and we have a BBQ then I would place one speaker near the BBQ and the other where the family is sitting/waiting... In that case it would be good for each speaker to have the same L+R signal since people would probably be able to hear only one speaker most of the time.
So was thing of LMS doing the combining rather than the player.
