Hi guys, as a fairly "uneducated" user when it comes to scripting, etc.,
I've read the whole of this thread and have come to two conclusions:

1) when I switched to the latest 8.0.0 LMS recently running under Mac OS
Catalina I have had what seems to be the same problem, but possibly with
a subtle twist ...
a) all playlists appear empty after a rescan BUT will play fine,
just without showing what is currently playing or what is in the play
queue, and ...
b) all tracks that are on one of my playlists DON'T appear in
the relevant Artist/Album views on either the Web Remote or Squeezeplay
so I can't play them anymore!

2) I don't understand all of the thread to date, but I do know that I DO
NOT have PlayHLS as a plug-in.

Given the above, I've just switched back to 7.9.4 and all seems to work
as normal again. I had a huge problem trying to get LMS to work at all
when I switched to Catalina recently (and upgraded to 8.0.0 at the same
time) but finally found the permissions fix when I gave bash full disk
access (thanks to a thread on here somewhere) which got me as far as the
issue above, so am wondering if this is a further permissions problem
rather than related to the plug-in.

Any bright ideas on what might fix my issues with 8.0.0? In the
meantime I'll stick with 7.9.4 and see what happens.

Thanks in advance ...
