Net/SSLeay.pm in @INC (you may need to install the Net::SSLeay module)
(@INC contains:

Having said that, is it possible that the problems I'm having are caused
by Arch Linux updating Perl without my knowing about it? (You know, the
kind of thing Android and Apple devices do ;-)) If that's possible,
perhaps I should update Perl? Or just do a full update of my Arch
installation? OR is LMS updating itself without my knowing about it?

That's a possibility, but likely not the case here. As I understand it Arch Linux is some minimalist Linux. You likely have to install many more things yourself than on other platforms. Eg. in your case IO::Socket::SSL seems to be installed, but Net::SSLeay seems to be missing. On other platforms the package manager would know about such dependencies. Arch probably isn't the best choice if you don't want to get really involved... Is there no more streamlined distribution available for your board?
